We begin the week carrying some of the tension left over from the Sundays new moon and the Mars–Pluto opposition. However, signs of forward movement are finally showing: Mercury has cleared its pre-retrograde shadow, and Mars will do the same by the end of the week, and Venus enters Aries again, helping to shift the energy decisively into action. We’re heading towards a first quarter moon, bringing a natural build-up of momentum. After a sluggish start to the season, the spring energy is now properly aligning with the planetary movements. There’s a strong theme of aligned action and staying power now. It may still feel a little tense, especially off the back of that new moon and with Pluto stationing, but it’s a powerful time to get things moving again! 🔥🥳
Astro Highlights of This Week
Wednesday 30th April
Venus re-enters Aries
Venus re-enters Aries, bringing a big shift in tone. Things may feel a little more tense, as Mars, the ruler of Aries, is currently under some strain opposing pluto.
Venus is in her fall in Aries, meaning she doesn’t operate with her usual grace – her energy becomes more impulsive, direct, and fiery.
Expect a more active, hot-headed atmosphere; there’s a focus on quick action and passion rather than patience and refinement.
Venus here expresses herself as feminine, playful, magnetic, bold, courageous, and fiercely independent.
As Venus naturally attracts and draws things towards her, this could be a promising area of your chart to watch for movement, opportunities, and good fortune.
Particularly beneficial if you were born with a night chart.
Friday 2nd May
North Node in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus @ 26 degrees
A subtle but exciting aspect suggests a sudden glimpse of future potential.
This continues the conversation started last week between Venus and Saturn, asking: what part of your life called for you to step up, take responsibility, and head in a new direction?
Uranus steps in this week to bring some awakening energy and support to that ongoing theme, offering surprising opportunities or fresh insights.
Venus in Aries conjunct Neptune in Aries
Venus meets Neptune in Aries, creating a glamorous, feminine, yet fiery and warlike atmosphere.
Expect a strong surge of passion, idealism, and a tendency to romanticise situations or people.
It’s a potent time for romance, artistic inspiration, and deep emotional connection.
However, the energy is ripe with potential for illusions; not everything may be as it seems.
There is a strong urge to create an idealistic or even utopian vision, perhaps with another person.
It’s an excellent time for manifestation work, but caution is advised – don’t rush in too quickly without clarity.
Mars clears its pre-retrograde shadow @ 6 degrees of Leo
Mars finally clears its pre-retrograde shadow, signalling a much-needed shift in momentum.
Another gear change arrives this week, with things beginning to move forward properly once again.
This marks the official end of the retrograde journey, clearing old issues and lingering frustrations.
Mars now steps into new territory, making it a powerful time to take bold action and set fresh goals.
Sunday 4th April
Pluto stations retro @ 3 degrees Aquarius
Pluto stations retrograde, intensifying and emphasising its themes wherever it touches your chart.
This movement continues some of the tension stirred up around the new moon last week.
While it’s not directly opposing Mars or squaring the Sun right now, the echoes of those difficult aspects may still be felt.
Those with planets or points between 1–4 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) are likely to feel this shift more acutely.
Pluto’s journey through Aquarius is revolutionary, transformational, and powerful. It can be destructive at times, but its goal is to get to the very depths of what needs to change and evolve.
As the week unfolds, focus is on steady, courageous steps forward. With conscious awareness, patience and persistence, the sparks ignited now can set the tone for real, lasting momentum.
