Marley - An Inspiration!

The summer season is now in full swing, the season of joy, celebration and gratitude. Over the past few weeks, in my daily practice and in our A Handpicked Life weekly classes we have really been leaning into this energy and a wonderful furry friend in my life keeps coming to mind. I wanted to share his story with you all.

Marley is my sisters dog, he is now 14 years old and went blind when he was just 2 from a rare genetic disorder, he eventually had to have his eyes removed. My sister, although devastated in the beginning decided to treat him as if he had sight, just like any other dog. Until around a year ago, when old age started to slow him down, he still ran like the wind - using his nose for guidance and, although he often went straight into a tree or brick wall that never encouraged him to slow down! He dives into the river to retrieve sticks and has the happiest nature and waggiest tail you could wish for in any dog. His joy and enthusiasm for life has never left him, a true inspiration.
