Gently does it.

There is an old Chinese saying that if you put a piece of paper down everyday pretty soon you will have a board that you cannot break. Having a daily practice where we take the time to balance and reset is not only beneficial to us, but also to those around us. We can stimulate our natural healing energies with specific postures, movement, deep breathing and meditation and gently build a strong and healthy foundation on which to build our daily experiences. We can bring the quality of our practice into our day to day life being more present and aware of what we are choosing, the conversations we have, the thoughts we think, the foods we eat, all the choices we make every single day that create who we are and the lives we live.

Over time, we may notice that our reactions are not as intense, feelings such as anger, irritability, jealousy and low self esteem are no longer regular companions, instead, we are having more fun, feeling fulfilled and easily drawing our attentions to things that are more life affirming. We might also notice that our immune systems are stronger and we are more alert and awake, content and happy.

Gently introducing change feels safe to the body and keeps the stress response at bay so we can hardwire our new habits before our old patterns emerge to fend off the unknown.Keep it simple, consistent and let the pieces of paper gently, slowly and consistently create your foundation.
