Shedding Old Narratives for a Fresh Start 🍁

Happy Full Moon!

As the time for telling tales of ghoulies, ghosties, and long-legged beasties approaches, let’s take a moment to explore what goes bump in your night…

The stories you carry are like spells. They can keep you enchanted for years, literally spellbound as the beliefs formed alongside them shape how you experience and interpret life. Stories like "I'm not good enough," "Life is dangerous," "People can't be trusted," or "Things never work out for me" become mantras. These opening lines often come with chapters of evidence, told with conviction, proving our affirmations right—after all, who doesn’t like to be proved right?

Of course, we also carry stories that expand us, enriching our lives with curiosity, joy, and all the good stuff. However, as the season shifts and nature sheds what’s ready to turn to compost, it’s a perfect time to do the same. Let go of the stories that contract you—the ones that drain your joy and keep you small. These stories often create patterns in your life that, on a conscious level, you’re ready to move beyond.

If you’re ready to dive deeper this autumn and shed a layer or two, start by observing what’s coming up for you now, even in small ways. Pay attention to repetitive, unhelpful phrases that surface in your thoughts or conversations. What do these tell you about your beliefs? How do you act, speak, or think to verify them?

Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?

You leave an unhappy relationship—be it with a friend, a boss, or a partner—only to find yourself in the same situation with someone new months later, feeling the same unfulfilled emotions.

You meet a new group of friends, and things are great at first, but eventually, familiar disappointments creep in—betrayal, boredom, or frustration.

A new diet, regime, or makeover gives you a confidence boost, but after a while, that old, restless, unfulfilled feeling returns.

The circumstances may change, but the feelings remain the same, pointing you back to the beliefs that keep drawing these experiences to you.

Now, a word of caution: While composting old stories is healthy, uprooting the beliefs that hold you back can be tricky. Without the right tools or direction, it’s easy to fall short of making lasting changes, no matter how much you desire them.

If you decide to stop telling a certain story, it’s crucial to be clear about what will replace it. What new beliefs will support your fresh start? What new narrative aligns with these beliefs? If you’re unsure, peace is a great placeholder. Peace creates space for new opportunities and ideas—space that’s hard to find when a rigid narrative drowns out the whispers of your heart. With clarity, patience, and awareness, you can override old stories that no longer serve you and craft a new narrative—one that expands your horizons and aligns with your dreams and aspirations.

If you would like to dive deeper we will be kicking off our group program on 31st October Shedding Old Narratives for a Fresh Start inside our membership. This experiment is a structure of weekly group coaching calls and short daily somatic practices which will guide you step by step into strengthening your intuition, identifying a story that no longer serves you and stepping into a new narrative.

Everything we do on our membership goes into our extensive library of practices so you can take things at your own pace. For more information check out this link.
