EFT is a simple and incredibly effective technique that involves tapping on specific acupressure points whilst focusing on a particular problem. It can be used for a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, bad habits, cravings and to aid relaxation and sleep, the list is endless.
Also known just as 'Tapping', the technique can be used to heal limiting beliefs and negative emotions quickly and easily. It has been described as one of the most important healing breakthrough's in modern times and is used in lots of contexts and in many ways. I use it regularly and the benefits keep coming: when something has upset me and keeps whirring around my head, I tap; when I feel bad about the way I have handled something with my child, I tap; when I want to change a habit or a craving for food, I tap. I tap to release old hurts and resentments and I tap to raise my mood on the days when I am feeling snappy and irritable. I have tapped to get myself back to sleep at night or simply to prepare me for a goodnight's rest. I tap when I feel overwhelmed with how much I have to do. In fact you name it, and I have probably tapped on it! It is easy to do, it just takes a bit of practice to perfect. Some sessions can be quick and powerful (no longer than 10 mins), others may take a bit of preparation to get the body into balance and skill to get to the root of the problem. However, when the setting is right and the language fits, it is mind blowing how quickly we can release negativity that holds us back from feeling joyful and peaceful. Tapping helps us to respond consciously to life's challenges rather than living on automatic pilot. The technique, known as EFT or Energy psychology, can vary, but whatever the variation, it combines modern-day psychology with the ancient energy medicine technique of tapping. The latest scientific research has shown that tapping on particular points on the face and body reduces the amount of activity in the amygdala, an almond-shaped part of the brain that initiates your body's survival response - also known as the fight or flight response. When we use the tapping sequence we change the electro-chemical responses in our brain to bring about remarkable and lasting change in the way we think, feel and behave. So how do you do it?
